The great success of Resident Evil 2 Remake certainly did not stop Capcom in thinking about the future, with Resident Evil 8 that, apparently, it would already be in development. The information comes from a insider which had already announced the demo of Resident Evil 2 Remake and that, for this, could be quite reliable.
According to this information Capcom would have started the development of the eighth chapter after the release of the last DLC of Resident Evil 7 and, compared to the latter, we would have a big difference: there would indeed be the return of the third-person view.
After the parenthesis of the seventh chapter in the first person, then, with the next major title in the series we should have a return to the past, a decision taken perhaps just given the success of Resident Evil 2 Remake.
According to the insider, the story of Resident Evil 8 "it will take place on an abandoned island where there is a secret laboratory"And the whole will focus on"discovery of the truth behind the creation of Eveline and other similar biological weapons". Important for gameplay purposes will be hallucinations, so that "players are confused about what is real and what is not".
Actually Capcom would not have decided yet whether to call this chapter effectively Resident Evil 8, therefore considering it in the title of the main series, or a spin-off as Revelations or Code: Veronica. In any case, the game, still in its infancy, it will not be ready before Resident Evil 3 Remake is released which, again according to the insider, would also be already underway.
If all this were true, we would find a truly rosy future for lovers of the horror saga of Capcom.
