How long Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition is primarily intended to allow players to recover the experience on new consoles, Monolith Soft has also decided to add an extra dedicated to veterans: Connected future, the new epilogue that bridges this game and its sequel. In an interview appeared on Famitsu, the president and creator of the development studio, Tetsuya Takahashi, explained to readers all the reasons that led to the creation of this additional segment.

Here are his words on the matter:

The reason is that we felt sorry for Melia ... I'm only partly joking when I say this. With Future Connected, we can attract the attention of those who have already played Xenoblade Chronicles; also, there are details in this epilogue that connect directly with the future of the series. So we created it for two and a half reasons. Another reason is that we had an unused map in the main game, Bionis' shoulder, which seemed appropriate for the setting.

The title will be available exclusively on Nintendo Switch starting from 29st May, or in just four days. If you want a taste of the work, we invite you to take a look at the our preview.
