Sony presses on the accelerator and increases the production of PS5, aiming for an availability of approx 10 million consoles by the end of 2020.

According to a report by Bloomberg, the Japanese house foresaw an availability of approx 5 million pieces by March 2021 but, with sales rising sharply post Covid-19, Sony has decided to raise the stakes.

PS5 production hit full steam last June and the 5 million console threshold is expected to be reached by the end September 2020, with the forecast of doubling the availability in the period between October and December.

To make a comparison with the last generation, approximately at the end of 2013 they had been delivered to dealers 4.5 million PS4 and the milestone of 10 million had been cut only in June 2014.
