Nintendo Switch has innovated the world of gaming thanks to its hybrid nature. Now the patent for a single Joy-Con appears, new innovation in sight?

The patent was filed by Nintendo in 2018 to become valid only for April 2020. As you can see in the image below, the controller looks very similar to the one we already know, except for the absence of the attack on the console.

Given the absence of a presentation during the aforementioned month, the project may have been discarded. But what could this new peripheral be for? The most sensible hypothesis is that of a product designed for local multiplayer on Nintendo Switch Lite, to make her more like her hybrid sister.

Will we ever see this controller on the market? Only a hypothetical Nintendo Direct can tell us.
