A few hours after the expiry of the most massive embargo of PlayStation 5, the official announcement from Sony arrives: the console does not support 1440p output.

In recent days BenQ's statement, which instead claimed full compatibility, had aroused the interest of users of 1440p monitors. Sony however, it has intervened in these hours putting an end to the question. PlayStation 5, this time it's official, won't natively support QHD.

It remains to be clarified how the console will behave in use cases on the devices affected by this resolution. The hope is that 1080p output can adapt as it does with 4K, but the different aspect ratios could create more of a problem.
