Microsoft could enrich its roster Xbox Game Studios with acquisitions in new emerging markets. He confirmed it all the same Phil Spencer, boss of the gaming division of the Redmond house, in an interview with The Guardian.
When asked about new acquisitions in territories such as India, South America or Africa, Spencer replied very clearly:
“I would be surprised if that didn't happen. Knowing the amount of talent currently available and with much more accessible means… I would be surprised if in the next three or five years we did not see numerous studios arise in places that currently do not represent the main poles of videogame production ”.
He echoed him Matt Booty, currently head of Xbox Game Studios:
“There should be studies made up of several hundred people. And not for outsourcing or support tasks but a team that builds whatever is the best possible version of a blockbuster for that particular market. This is the vision, basically ”.
Phil Spencer has never hidden that the main goal of Xbox is now to put the player at the center of the project and to reach it in as many ways as possible, wherever it is. A vision that, evidently, also aims to involve potential users in markets that are still developing from the point of view of the videogame offer.
