Bad and good news for players and potential buyers of Battlefield 2042, the latest installment in the home FPS series DICE ed Electronic Arts coming next October 22, 2021. In fact, through a recent post in the official blog, the developers confirmed that the open beta scheduled for the month of July was postponed, but it will start anyway during the summer.

Battlefield 2042 DICE EA Electronic Arts Open Beta Cross PlayThe reasons behind this small delay in the public playtest phase lie in DICE's desire to offer its players a version of the game that is not only testable, but also compatible with the options of Cross-play between the various platforms.

At the moment, the open beta will be available on PC, Xbox Series X / S and PS5, with the possibility to register (without however guaranteeing a place in the beta) by visiting the site of EA Playtesting. Of course, DICE has confirmed that Cross-Play will also be available between current-gen consoles such as Xbox One e PlayStation 4.
