The Sims 4, one of the flagship titles of the Electronic Arts catalog, goes free. Or at least this is the fate that will befall the basic version of the game which, as well known, is extremely expandable thanks to all the DLCs released from 2015 to today.
Communication with a note published directly on EA's official website:
“We are thrilled to continue welcoming more players than ever to create new stories and explore without borders. The Sims has always been about celebrating new ways to play and offers a myriad of opportunities for discovery. Starting October 18, 2022, the base game The Sims ™ 4 it will be downloadable for free * by all new players on PC via the EA app or Origin ™, on Mac® via Origin, Steam®, PlayStation®5, PlayStation®4, Xbox Series X | S and Xbox One ”.
In announcing the change of economic model on all platforms where the game is present, the community was also given an appointment for a special event in streaming where the future of the title will be revealed:
“With The Sims 4 going free to play, our team is more committed than ever to developing meaningful new The Sims 4 experiences for players, and we will continue to develop and release Sims Packs, Kits and Express Delivery for the foreseeable future. We'll tell you more about what's cooking at Behind The Sims Summit, a special edition stream that will take place on October 18, 2022 at 19:00 CET on the channels of YouTube e Twitch dedicated to The Sims, but also on a deferred basis!
